# Watches and price alerts

> Tamo keeps an eye on a page for you, like a product's price or a ticket going on sale, and messages you once when something changes.

Web page: https://heytamo.com/docs/watches/

Ask Tamo to keep an eye on something: "tell me when these headphones drop under 7,000 TL",
"let me know when tickets for the Lisbon show go on sale". Tamo looks at the page, sets up a watch, tests it once,
and only keeps it if the test works.

## Making sure it reads the right number

When the watch is set, Tamo sends a picture of the page with the price it reads outlined,
so you can tell at a glance whether it's the right one:

```chat
me: Tell me when these drop under 7,000 TL: https://www.example-shop.com/shokz-openrun
tamo: 👀 Checking example-shop.com every hour: price under 7,000 TL
Right now: 7,735 TL
Shokz OpenRun Pro 2
buttons: Stop | ✏️ Not this one
```

Prices are read from the shop's own product data where there is one, so a coupon or an
instalment price isn't mistaken for the real price. When a page shows more than one
candidate, Tamo sends the page with each one numbered and asks which to watch. Tap a number,
or **✏️ Show me** to open the page and tap the number yourself. Tapping there only points;
it doesn't click anything on the page.

Picked the wrong one? **✏️ Not this one** stops the watch, and Tamo asks which number you meant.

## How often it checks

You choose: every 15 minutes, every hour, every 3 hours, every 6 hours or once a day. Watches
that need a full browser, which is most shops, check at most once an hour. One watch can
look at up to 5 sites, for example the same product in three shops.

## Being told

When what you asked for happens, you get one message, labelled with the site it's about:

```chat
tamo: 🔔 example-shop.com: The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 is 6,899 TL now, under your 7,000 TL.
```

Tamo doesn't repeat itself: the same news isn't sent again on every check. If it's already
true when you set the watch up, Tamo tells you straight away. Alerts that come at night wait
until 08:00 your time.

## When a page changes or blocks Tamo

Pages change. If a watch stops being able to read its page and can't work around it, or a
site keeps showing Tamo a robot check, Tamo pauses the watch and tells you, with
**Keep trying** and **Stop** buttons.

## What it can't watch

Pages that need you to be signed in can't be watched yet.

## Stopping a watch

Tap **Stop** on the watch's card, pause or delete it in `/tasks`, ask in the chat, or use
the [dashboard](https://heytamo.com/docs/dashboard/). Watches count toward the 50 reminders and watches you
can have at once.
