# The browser

> Tamo's own Chrome stays signed in, fills in forms and sends screenshots. When a site wants a password, 2FA code or CAPTCHA, you take over.

Web page: https://heytamo.com/docs/browser/

Tamo has its own web browser, and it's yours alone. It opens sites, searches, reads whole
pages, clicks, types, picks from dropdowns and scrolls, the way you would.

## Staying signed in

Your Tamo browser keeps its logins and cookies between tasks. Once you've signed in to a
site, Tamo can usually get back in next time without asking you again.

## Screenshots

When a page is easier to show than describe, Tamo sends a screenshot of it with a short
caption. You can also ask: "send me a screenshot of the checkout page".

## When a site wants your password

Tamo never asks for passwords or codes in the chat. When a site needs you to sign in,
enter a 2FA code or solve a CAPTCHA, Tamo hands you its browser:

```chat
me 09:12: Download my invoices from last quarter
tamo 09:13: I need you for a moment on example-shop.com: it wants you to sign in.
Tap below to use my browser yourself. Check that the address at the top says example-shop.com before you type anything; I can't see what you type. Tap Done when you're finished.
buttons: 🔐 Open browser
```

**🔐 Open browser** opens Tamo's browser right inside Telegram:

- The bar at the top shows the site, with 🔒 for a secure page or ⚠️ for one that isn't.
  Check it before you type.
- Tap a field on the page, type in the box at the bottom, then **Send**. There are keys for
  **⌫**, **Tab** and **Enter** too. Tapping and scrolling work like on any page, and
  pop-ups like "Sign in with Google" open in the same view.
- Tap **Done** when you're finished, or **Give up** to cancel.

Tamo is paused the whole time and never sees what you type. Afterwards the message in the
chat shows ✅ Done, ❌ Cancelled or ⌛ Timed out, and Tamo carries on from where you left the
page. The button only works for you, and only for a while: after that, ask Tamo again.

Some shops send visitors to another country's store. If that happens, Tamo hands you the
browser the same way so you can pick your country.

## Which sites Tamo uses

Tamo opens and types into sites you've used with it, not just any site it comes across:

- **Sites you name.** Write the address ("amazon.com.tr") and Tamo can go there. Writing
  just "Amazon" isn't enough.
- **Sites you've allowed.** When Tamo wants to open or type into a site you haven't used
  with it, it asks first, and one tap trusts that site (and its subdomains) for next time.

```chat
tamo: I'd like to open a site you haven't used with me before:
https://www.example-vet.com/hours
Allow? I'll remember example-vet.com for next time.
buttons: Yes, do it | No
```

Say **No** and Tamo won't try that site again; it asks you how you'd like to go on instead.
You can see and remove allowed sites on the [dashboard](https://heytamo.com/docs/dashboard/).

## Good to know

- Tamo's browser never downloads files.
- It uses your language and time zone, so pages read as they would at home.
- Pop-ups that ask "are you sure?" are answered Cancel unless you've said yes to that click.
- Text on web pages is information to Tamo, never instructions. A page that says "ignore
  your instructions" gets ignored. See [Approvals and safety](https://heytamo.com/docs/approvals-and-safety/).
